I've been a patient here for awhile now, and every visit has been a great experience. The staff are friendly, professional, and genuinely care about your eye health. They take the time to explain everything clearly and make sure you're comfortable with your care. I always leave feeling well taken care of - and seeing clearly! Highly recommend this place if you're looking for a team that's knowledgeable and kind.

I can't say enough good things about this clinic. As someone who is part of the LGBTQIA2S+ community and also has sensory sensitivities, it's rare to find a space that feels this safe, welcoming, and respectful. The staff here go out of their way to be kind, patient, and accommodating—without making a big deal out of it or singling anyone out.

The environment is calm and thoughtfully set up, which makes a big difference if you're sensitive to noise, light, or busy spaces. I never feel rushed, and they always take the time to explain things in a way that feels clear and respectful. It’s a genuinely inclusive place where you can just be, and that matters more than most people realize.

Highly recommend for anyone looking for affirming, accessible eye care.

I've never had a bad experience here. I arrived 5 minutes before my appointment, and I was seen practically immediately. I had numerous tests done and the Dr answered all my questions. She even fixed my glasses, and thoroughly explained the condition of my eyes. She was very friendly, warm, and helpful. She was excellent with my daughter, keeping her engaged and comfortable. I would absolutely recommend.

The worst service! My appointment was for 1:30. I called while enroute (at 1:30(, to let them know I was held up at work but I was close, and on my way. I literally walked in the door at 1:36. I was told that I was too late, and would only be able see the doctor if the next appointment did not show up, if I wanted to wait. I agreed to wait, realizing that it was my fault for being late. After 20 minutes of waiting, and no other appointments arriving , I asked when the next appointment was due. I was told that they were already due but they had to give him 5 to10 minutes grace time before giving me his appointment. Another 15 minutes went by and the fellow arrived (late). I was then told I would not be seen because he had arrived! So after questioning why I was not allowed to be 6 minutes late, but he was allowed to be 15 minutes late, I was given a lame excuse, and offered an appointment in a month. Also informed that I would have to pay another $52 for that appointment, because of the time laps (this was suppose to be a free follow up appointment, and that was confirmed upon booking)! Terrible way to run a business! This Optometrist has lost my whole families business and Eyewear needs, and let me tell you, after working as an Optometric Assistant in the past, and aware of the huge mark up on Eyewear, that's significant. We won't be back!

Some of the reviews on here seem extremely inaccurate. I've been getting eye care done since a young age and going to Thompson Rivers Family Optometry has by far been the best experience I've had. They are very kind, professional and time efficient. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the staff and Dr. Frison. I am happy to say I've found somewhere I plan on going to for my vision needs and I would highly recommend them to anyone!!
