Went to buy a transport chair for my father after visiting many stores with purchase or buy options and looking online for solutions. Met Doug and Darlene who are owners. Incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and passionate about what they are doing. Got an excellent deal on a refurbished chair. They have so many items that we will or may need in the future for my father with stage 5 dementia. We will be going back for sure. I don't give 5 stars reviews easily! Thank you!

EXCELLENT SERVICE AND PRICE
I have recently rented a walker here for a friend. Both owners Doug and Darlene were very informative, knowledgeable and service oriented. They have a very large selection for sale and rental. Our rental was two days late and they didn't even charge me for it. It's unheard in today's retail world. I would very highly recommend this place. Thank you guys.

I recently took my mother on a much-needed trip from Toronto to Victoria after the passing of my father, hoping to give her a bit of respite. Unfortunately, our journey took an unexpected turn when she twisted her knee upon arriving at the airport. As we made our way to our hotel in downtown Victoria, we stumbled upon Doug’s store, and I can’t express how grateful we are that we did.

Doug’s kindness and genuine care for his customers immediately put us at ease during a stressful time. He not only rented us a wheelchair for three days but also generously lent us a cane at no extra charge. Doug took the time to ensure my mother had the right wheelchair and carefully set up the cane for her, demonstrating a level of compassion that is rare to find.

When we returned the equipment, Doug’s generosity shone through once again. He offered to let us keep the cane so my mother could continue using it, and we had to strongly insist on paying for it. Doug’s compassion, kindness, and dedication to his customers go above and beyond, and we feel incredibly fortunate to have crossed paths with him. Doug truly turned what could have been a difficult situation into a positive experience, and for that, we are eternally grateful.

We can't recommend this place enough. The owner, Doug, is incredibly caring and professional. He isn't interested in hard-selling a bunch of equipment, and rather takes time to listen to his clients and find out what they want and need. He would rather repair equipment than junk it and replace it with new.

We just picked up a walker that he repaired for us, and he did a whole bunch of extra work on it at no extra cost, and refused our offer to charge more or accept a tip as our way of saying thanks.

We have used his services several times over the years, and will continue to do so in future. He really cares, and isn't in it for the money. Highly recommended!

I recently had knee surgery and needed to rent or purchase a long list of medical equipment before the surgery took place. I wasn’t even sure where to start.
I called Vancouver Island Medical Supply just to get some information and find out if they had the items I needed to rent available there. I spoke to the owner, Doug. He was so familiar with my list that before I really got in to it, he knew exactly what I would need. He had several ideas that would make things easier for me in my recovery. He just asked that I let him know when I’d be there and he’d have everything ready. When I came in to pick up the equipment, he gave me a demonstration of how to use it all. And had the equipment loaded in to my car. I couldn’t believe how easy he made the whole experience!

I came to get my mother-in-law's favourite cane repaired just before she had to go on a flight home. They didn't have the part in the store and needed to get it brought from the warehouse. However, when the person working in the shop heard that she needed it immediately he got the part from the warehouse immediately and got the cane repaired in 30 min. I felt he went over and above and really appreciated his service. My mother-in-law was definitely impressed with me 🙂

Doug was extremely kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. We had lost our manual wheelchair cushion and the wheelchair needed some height adjustments. We had the chair back the next day with new cushion and adjustments that were beyond our expectations. Thanks for the great service.
