I had a phenomenal experience at this clinic thanks to Dr. Doug Black and Bella at reception. I had very minimal expectations based off of previous experiences at clinics in other provinces, and was beyond impressed along every step of the process by how well I was cared for here, from pre-appointment conversations, to arrival, to the care appointment. I had a circumstance that could have added additional stress to the appointment, and the team went above and beyond to not only accommodate, but to not make me feel bad about it.
I felt extremely seen, cared for, and listened to on a level ground from the care providers, which can be easy to lose sight of in a busy healthcare environment. Thank you again to the team here!

Could not have asked for a better experience! Dr.Herrington was excellent when it came time to replace my IUD- she walked me through everything she was doing and was so gentle and quick. Will definitely recommend to anyone in Victoria!

Had an iud removal+insertion today. The doctor (Sarah ?) was very very nice and she was very comforting. As well all the staff I encountered today were all great throughout the whole entire time. Felt really comfortable and cared for. Was a bit nervous but the Dr talked me thru everything at my pace and with reassurance. A little sore as expected but the whole experience made up for those 10 seconds of discomfort. Thank you 😊

I have had three IUDs inserted at this clinic. I wouldn't go anywhere else but here for my IUD removal and insertion. Kind, compassionate, caring staff. Freezing is used for IUD removal and insertion which is fantastic. Dr. Herrington was amazing. Talked me through step by step, explained what she was doing as she was doing it, ensured I was comfortable and supported through out the procedure. Fantastic high standard of care. Truly is a women's clinic. Thank you. Keep up the good work.

I had my nexplanon inserted here three years ago the physician who did the insertion has put it in the wrong place. I didn’t know until I did my due diligence to have it removed and replaced to protect my reproductive health. Due to where the physician placed it, it migrated deeper into my arm. Now I’m not blaming the physician for the migration, it’s bound to happen foreign object in the body; however, due to the wrong placement it has migrated deeper than it should have. Meaning my NP couldn’t remove it, so I had to sit through an hour of them trying their best due to this prior physicians negligence. Not only that, but the original doctor’s bedside manner was awful. I never said anything because I was young, timid, and didn’t want to be a nuisance. Now adding that it wasn’t placed appropriately has soured my overall experience with this clinic. Especially with it being a women’s clinic I’d expect the medical staff to have better knowledge around the placement of contraceptives. I have to attempt to get it removed again after they had already cut my arm open.

Dr. Black was fantastic!

I was recommended to the Vancouver Island Women's Clinic by a friend who had an equally great experience. This was my first IUD insertion so I was nervous but the front desk staff and Dr. Black made me feel safe and relaxed. The operation itself was quick and painless. I was also allowed to bring a friend into the operation room with me which was super nice. I cannot recommend this clinic enough!!

This is my second review, and I can’t say enough good things. The doctors, nurses, and administrative staff are truly exceptional—such kind, compassionate people who make you feel completely comfortable, heard, and validated. Just incredible humans all around

Dr Stewart and all of the staff here are all so friendly and welcoming! Leading up to my mirena insertion I had an insane amount of anxiety. Definitely take a look at some of the pain management they offer on the website! I took a couple ativan prior to my procedure and it helped a lot to calm me down. Of course this kind of procedure can be scary, but it is really assuring knowing that the doctors are doing everything in their power to make you feel as comfortable as possible 🩷
