Our Mother has been a resident of Parkwood Manor for 8 years and it was the best decision we could have made. The management and staff members have provided a warm, caring and safe environment and have exceeded all expectations. The programs and activities are engaging, inclusive and highly entertaining.
It’s always a pleasure to visit our Mom knowing we are welcomed to participate in the events and enjoy the excellent meals.

My mother will be moving into Parkwood Manor in a couple of weeks and we have been so impressed with our experience so far. Theresa Lange has been outstanding to work with... wow!
Throughout the entire process, she has been responsive and attentive with explaining the many offerings Parkwood Manor has to offer and securing the perfect suite for my Mom. She has a wonderful demeanor and has been helpful beyond words. We've interacted with several members of the Revera team and it is abundantly clear how much they care about the residents. So impressed with the countless small touches - everything from the homemade scone and cookies after our first visit to the fabulous jacket my Mom received as a welcome gift. Even the Chef stopped by to introduce himself! The space is well thought out, offering a variety of well-designed areas for residents including comfy lounges and wellbeing rooms. The programming seems great, it is resident-driven and includes everything from shuffle board to yoga. From the moment my husband and I walked into to Parkwood Manor to check it out for my Mom, we had a good feeling and it gets better with each visit 🙂 I'd like to thank Theresa, and the team she works alongside, for all they have done for my Mom and us. It's been really great and we can't wait for her to move in!

I have spent a considerable amount of time researching retirement homes for my parents, and I am happy to say that Parkwood Manor has exceeded my expectations in every way. In particular, Theresa Lange has made the process seamless and stress-free. Her warm, welcoming nature immediately put me at ease and her patience in answering all of our questions was truly appreciated. Theresa never made us feel pressured in any way and was sincerely interested in making sure Parkwood Manor was the right fit for my parents. I resided temporarily at the Parkwood Manor Retirement Residence. It began as a need for myself, a senior, for somewhere to stay for a month while restoration was being done on my residence.

While Passing through the front doors of my temporary home there was a sense of elegance and upscale decor. From the massive chandeliers to the tall, wood-framed gas fireplace, to the stately furnishings throughout. Add in the grand piano in the dining room. A wall of windows, in the lounge, taking you outside to acres of well-manicured greenery. For those that may be missing that touch of nature you can be involved in keeping your green thumb active.

Talking about Active. Whether taking a walk along the paved pathways, stopping to sit on one of the benches or through the wide hallways on a rainy day. To enjoy a few rays of sun before you are off to “Chair Yoga with Emily” for some relaxing stretches after taking part in the numerous activities. Whether they be physical or mental stimulation or a quick nap in a comfy wing chair in front of the fire. Chatting with your neighbors, who have now become your friends. As Parkwood Manor, has become your Home. A familiar place with your own furnishings and keepsakes but with the feel of an all-inclusive upscale vacation.

No more of, what do l want for dinner, as I stare at a half empty fridge. Or third time eating the same meal as you still have not mastered cooking for one. Or a bowl of cereal or a peanut butter sandwich because you just do not have the motivation to produce a balanced meal. Or your day goes by, and you have just neglected to eat because you do not have the appetite for what is in your fridge or cupboards or the energy to cook for yourself. For big appetites or small, the entrees in the Dining Room are offered in three sizes. Regular, small and birdie. All appetite sizes can be fulfilled.

Parkwood Manor is honored to offer an in-house Chef providing meals that are nutritious, appealing, tasty, flexible, hot at arrival and varied on a 6-week rotation. If the entree of the day does not appeal to you then you can choose from the alternate menu. There is always something for everyone.

At Parkwood Manor there is no more cooking, cleaning, or bedding to launder. Forget having to wash your sheets and wrestle making your bed as the Housekeeping staff will do that for you.

Chores are replaced with Daily activities, special events, in house concerts, interesting and thought-provoking speakers, bus trips, movies, drop-in groups, bingo, card and board games and more! The bonus being when you are done with your in-house interests, you can be back in your room a few minutes later. No coats, hats or umbrellas required.

Each team member performs their role with exuberance, friendliness and efficiency and know the residents by name. Residents are treated like the special individuals we are.

I can enthusiastically recommend Parkwood Manor from my first-hand experiences.

Dad was very hesitant about moving from the apartment that he had shared with Mum for many years but after Mum’s passing we could see that Dad was lonely and was essentially tired of cooking and taking care of his home on his own. Once he was through the doors of Parkwood Manor and had toured everything with Theresa he was sold on the idea and was able to pick out his suite that day and move into a beautiful new home within 6 weeks with all of his favourite furniture pieces, paintings and photos. Dad has made so many new friends, takes part in many activities and social events and is very complimentary of all of the staff and their kindness. He loves the variety of food on the menus and of course, raves about the deserts. Family members are able to join him for meals and Dad is so proud when he gives them the tour of his apartment and Parkwood Manor which he considers to be his home. I live in the Comox Valley and I’m able to relax knowing that my Dad is so well taken care of and happy. I also know that if Dad has any medical emergencies the staff immediately contact my sister who is my Dad’s right hand gal and the problem is dealt with in a timely manner. Dad will be 96 this year and is living a full and meaningful life with the help of all of the caring staff at Parkwood My heartfelt thanks to all!!!! Marcia

I highly recommend Parkwood Manor as an independent living residence for senior citizens. A close family member of mine lives at this wonderful residence and really enjoys his retirement there! The staff are caring and attentive; the food/meals are healthy and delicious; the suites are comfortable and modern; and the facilities are excellent, clean and spacious. Retirement is wonderful at Parkwood Manor!

I have been in Parkwood manor for three months and I cannot emphasize how happy I am here..The place is beautiful ,like being on a cruiseship ,the administration is wonderful,they go out of their way to make the residents comfortable and safe,the staff are all great ,friendly and helpful in every way.Coming here was the best decision I ever made and I am in for the long haul.
