First time at this vet, as my vet in town was full and told me it was an emergency. Drove an HR down - walked in and the staff from start to finish at WAVES were incredible. They were supportive, communicative and were very helpful. They took my boy in right away, and didn’t waste any time. Dr Katzman was amazing, very professional and very understanding and supportive as well for both my cat and I. He cared for my yeti boy all day, and helped make me feel comfortable through the process of not knowing what was going on until we did. Would trust any of my animals with him absolutely!
The picture is what yeti looked like before and then after a couple days of doing and taking what Dr Katzman said too, he is just about fully back to himself! Thank you WAVES.

Making frequent visits to ER is never a good thing but staffs at Waves sure make everything feel better. They do follow their triage protocols very well, I’ve had experienced waits up to 6 hours as well as immediate care and it all depends on the condition of your dog.
Dr Kilpatrick was the first doctor we met on Mozart’s first visit to Waves. He was very helpful and thorough in explaining Mozart’s condition and he even did followed up with emails to check on Mozart’s condition as well as answering questions that I have about other issues Mozart was having. That alone is truly above and beyond service. Another doctor we met worth mentioning was Dr Ziolo, who we met when Mozart’s condition started to decline. I appreciate the fact that she didn’t sugar coat the situation but did it with compassion so that gave us realistic timeline we had left with Mozart. The staff at the front desk were all very friendly and helpful as well. Although through all this Mozart is no longer with us, their after care for pet that passed away is also very considerate. This is a place I highly recommend if your pet has an emergency.

I wanted to give a huge shoutout to Waves Veterinary Hospital.
I had to rush my dog to the hospital last night(June 4th). These people were amazing!
I've rarely seen more compassionate, kind, professional people. They explained all my options. Didn't push me to make decisions right away. They gave me all the time I needed to be with my boy as he crossed that rainbow bridge.
Letting him go was the hardest thing I have ever had to do. But I am grateful to have had 15 great years with Coady.
Rest easy, little buddy.

Took my 3 week old rescue puppy chunk in as he had aspirated, staff were awesome, understanding and compassionate. Although they are pricier than a regular vet they have the skills and expertise to save pets lives. They throughly explained the costs, and even sent him home wirh a personalized medicine bag. Thanks for helping chunk out and giving him a chance to grow up.

My baby girl (Frenchie) is there right now, for the second time this weekend. They were friendly and I was seen in a very reasonable amount of time in both instances. They called to update me this afternoon which I so appreciated. Two different doctors now, both professional and empathetic. Really seemed to want to make her feel safe, as my pup has anxiety and gets protective of herself when she’s stressed. Peeked through the window of the doors today and saw one of the techs cuddling her in a chair. I’m so grateful for the professional and compassionate care she is currently receiving. Communication has been excellent in outlining risks and what I can expect. The couches in the waiting area are a huge plus. These folks work so hard and have such a challenging job. Thank you WAVES!
Not a coincidence I think that the wall art is of a Frenchie because dang this girl is an expensive little lady in every single way! Although I did pay much less than the high-end range of what I was quoted, which was a nice surprise.
On an unrelated note - buy insurance for your pets! So nice to be able to just tell them to do whatever they need to make her well, without worrying about the expense.

UPDATE: After seeing his regular vet following his initial visit at WAVES, Mochi indeed had injured his back from rough play, he has recovered well with lots of rest!

I had to take my 2 year old Tibetan Spaniel, Mochi, to WAVES as he was showing signs of being in pain. I was very scared and emotional and worried about him and the entire staff at WAVES were very kind and compassionate. Dr. Gerow was very empathetic and explained some possibilities as to why he could possibly be in pain. I did not stay to get imaging done as it was late and I live in Sooke, but I was sent home with pain medications and Mochi was given an opiod injection at the hospital to manage his pain. After giving him his meds when we got home and letting him sleep in his crate, he was bright and energetic in the morning. WAVES also contacted Mochi's vet, who called me the next day, and he is getting a follow up appointment on Monday. I was not expecting my regular vet to call without reaching out first.

I suspect that he was playing too rough with his best friend who is a large dog and injured himself during one of his crazy "chase me" parkour zoomie times. I am hopeful that he will make a full recovery with further rest.

Thank You to the team at WAVES for helping me during a very scary time, and Mochi says Thank You too 💜 ✨️

Dr. Aoki was the incredible surgeon who took care of our staffy, Salish. Before Salish was 8 months old, Dr. Aoki performed two separate surgeries on our girl. Unfortunately she had severe hip dysplasia since birth and required triple pelvic osteotomy surgery on both hips. Dr. Aoki was informative, realistic, personable, and professional. He did a phenomenal job on her surgery and she has recovered perfectly. His attention to detail will be remembered and praised by our family.

My only critique would be for the front of house staff. We were prescribed the wrong dose of a prescription ( given 300mg gabapentin caps when we were prescribed 100mg ) we found the communication between front desk and surgery area was lacking and would benefit from some attention.
Apart from this, they were extremely friendly, understanding and good to us. I would highly recommend waves to anyone.

We are writing this review to express our gratitude to the team at Waves. When the health of our beloved 15-year-old cat started to deteriorate rapidly, they conducted tests and reviewed his medical records efficiently. Dr. Caitlin Brown showed incredible compassion, giving us the information we needed to make a difficult decision, then allowed us time to say goodbye in a calm environment. Options were provided with tact and clarity, and we are eternally grateful for the professionalism and grace shown by everyone during this difficult time. A genuine thanks to everyone at the clinic.
