The staff is very hard working. I saw nurses working tirelessly and taking care of elders in this cold winter all over the city.
I have had some of my family who had to be admitted for medical emergency, and they were taken care of until everyone of us were okay.
The wait time could be long, or is it just me being impaitent. But there is a mini park inside with live plants and it is warm and beautiful?. So it makes time go a little bit faster.

Hello,
This is a complaint regarding a misinformation that is being provided at the front desk of the emergency ward.

I went to the emergency on 29th July, when I checked in the lady told me to provide my MSP card. I provided them with it, she said

" because it expired a couple of months ago she would not charge me anything for it. If there is any additional charges that the doctor has to charge you they will provide you with the information of the charge when they see you"

So, I went on with the process and doctor saw my wound and gave me IV antibiotic and called me again for the iv drip at the day care next day.

Next day the lady at the day care checked me in and told me to go the nurses for the iv drip.

I got the 2nd drip.

Then the 3rd day there was another lady at the day care check in desk. She saw my id and told me that there will be charges for this treatment.

This is a big mistake, the hospital staff is not trained to communicate correctly. The doctor or the 1st nurse that came to see me should have told me that there will be certain charges for this treatment are you ok with proceeding further.

I would have left the hospital all together.

This miscommunication causes a very unexpected and unethical transaction making the patient feel like they are being ripped off without being provided the proper information about the treatment and the charges.

I want to pass this onto whatever team that is responsible for task and information priority in the facility.

Each and every time i have needed outpatient procedures, I have been treated exceptionally well and professionally. I commend all of the folks who make this hospital a real gem!

Free parking...let's start there. I had to have three procedures done for follow-up for screening mammography. I traveled to PA because no machine at NRGH. What a treat...every single medical and non-medical person was so nice, so thorough, considerate and kept things light. I am beyond impressed. Seriously one of the best little hospitals I've ever been in, and super clean and fresh. Well done Port Alberni. Also started at 1pm out at 3 pm. Unreal!!!!

I visit a relative frequently. Most times I easily go in. On Sunday November 19th, the greeter was openly hostile, yelling at me and claiming that she had not slept since the day before. I asked her to stop yelling at me. She was trying to prevent my visit. Her and her colleague both said that this was her normal voice. She continued to yell as I made my way towards the washrooms. I come early and have for several months as I drive from out of town. This is not a problem for anyone except this "greeter". When I left she was sitting at the reception, without a mask, openly glaring at me. Perhaps a different job, where she does not have to interact with people might be more appropriate.

I swear half of the nurses who work here are borderline psychopaths. What the hell is wrong with these people? I'd seriously love to know.

Can’t say enough good about this place. We’ve had two beautiful and healthy babies here.

The staff and nurses are knowledgeable, friendly, and unwavering in their kindness. The doctors are absolutely brilliant as well. My faith in humanity is restored every time I visit!

The facility itself is relaxing, clean and well maintained.

The real icing on the cake here is the exquisite food and coffee. Hats off to the chef who put together the beef goulash and Moroccan spice loaf, YUM!

I highly highly highly recommend you consider having your next baby here.
